Mr. Tarun Katiyar

Mr. Tarun Katiyar leads TPTCL as its Chief Executive Officer, bringing over three decades of extensive experience in the power sector. His expertise spans engineering, strategy formulation, business development, and executive leadership. As TPTCL's CEO since 2022, Mr. Katiyar has steered the company's transformation into a comprehensive energy services organization, achieving remarkable growth in trading volumes and profitability while advancing sustainable energy solutions.

His strategic vision has led to several landmark achievements including the acquisition of Odisha DISCOMs, implementation of major transmission projects across India, and securing significant infrastructure projects like the Smart Metering initiative with CSPDCL. Under his leadership, TPTCL recently established a strategic partnership with Bhutan for developing 5GW of hydro and renewable energy potential.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Katiyar held key positions at Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, where he pioneered India's first MW-scale rooftop solar plant and championed digital transformation initiatives. His international experience includes leading advisory and management services for power utilities in Nigeria, Tajikistan, and Mozambique.

Mr. Tarun Katiyar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and Finance, further enriched by executive leadership training from IIM Ahmedabad. Outside his professional pursuits, he is passionate about strategic games like chess, experimenting with culinary arts, and traveling to scenic destinations, including Shillong and the Andaman Islands.
